Original Print Gallery, 4 Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

13th Feb–7th March 2009

Co-selected by artist, Rhona Byrne and graphic designer, Oran Day.

The exhibition brief was centered around the following statement by Paul Valéry (1871–1945): 'The universe is built to a plan, the profound symmetry of which is somehow present in the inner structure of our intellect.'

For this exhibition Black Church Print Studio extended an invitation for submissions from outside it's own Studio Membership to include other Irish and international artists working in a wide range of media who address and respond to symmetry and its many meanings. The result is a conglomerate of 2 and 3 dimensional works on paper aswell as lens-based and textile works.

Selected artists & Black Church Print Studio members:  Debora Ando, Ella Bertilsson, Kate Betts, Tomasz Knapik, Catriona Leahy, Rachel O'Hara, Vincent Sheridan and Naomi Sex in collaboration with non-members Sinéad McCann & Dan Monks.

Other artists include Dov Abramson, Eleanor Brennan, Liz Collini, Joseph J Field, Jessica Harrison, Fiona Joyce, Clodagh Kelly, Eileen Kennedy, Breda Lynch, Eilish McCann, Séamus McCormack, Stephen McGlynn, Ian McNicol, Corey Naughton, Robert Peters, Fiona Quill and Aine Scannell.
