A&E Session Eight

15 August 2013

Participants: curator Paul McAree & artist Monica Flynn

A&E is a critical seminar programme that seeks to open dialogues across a broad range of practices and professional positions. The eighth in the series, this A&E runs in parallel to the exhibition Circulation and includes contributions by curator Paul McAree and participating artist Monica Flynn.

The lunchtime event kicks-off at FLOOD at 1pm with an introduction to the exhibition by McAree, followed by a walking tour lead by the curator to the exhibition's second venue, Monster Truck Gallery in Temple Bar. Upon arrival artist Monica Flynn will present an iteration of her performed piece What goes around, comes around (2013).

The exhibition Circulation focuses on responses to the themes of production, distribution, and display. It expresses an interest in works which demonstrate an economy of means, using easily available and cheap means of production - leaflets, photocopies, posters, printmaking, flyers, collage - as well as historical practices of printmaking. Circulation is the third and final exhibition in a series presented by Black Church Print Studio across multiple venues through 2012-13.

Since 2010, A&E has included contributions from Kevin Atherton, Valerie Connor, Brian Duggan, Clodagh Emoe, Brian Fay, Sam Keogh, Barbara Knezevic, Sofie Loscher, Colin Martin, James Merrigan, Seán O Sullivan, Tim Stott, and Gemma Tipton.

A&E is a Black Church Print Studio initiative. Free admission, no booking required.
